Why do you think God describes His people as sheep? Luke 19:10; John 10:11

 

Where do we see the Law in this text? Where do we see the Gospel?

 

Why is it the Lord’s job to seek out the sheep? Micah 4:6-7 How does He do this through us?

 

Describe a day of clouds and thick darkness (verse 12) in this context. Ezekiel 30:1-4

 

Do you think this prophecy has already been fulfilled or are we waiting for its fulfillment? Explain

In human context, who are the lost, the strayed, the injured and the weak? Who are the fat and the strong? Verse 16

 

Many of us have heard of the Lord separating the lambs from the goats on judgement day, but in verse 17 He mentions judging between the sheep and the sheep. What do you think he means? Verse 20.

 

There is a subtle but clear testimony here to the deity of Jesus Christ. Without doubt, Ezekiel 34 presents Yahweh as the good and perfect shepherd of Israel. Without ambiguity, Jesus took that title to Himself (most clearly in John 10:1-18), demonstrating that He is God (enduring word.com). Read the text from the Gospel of John and discuss.

 

Who is the “you” spoken of in verse 21? Ezekiel 34:1-4

 

God is making a new covenant with His people in verses 22-24. This is an oracle of salvation that has followed an oracle of judgement. Why must judgement come before salvation?

 

What does God mean when He says that He will be our God? Think outside the box. Ezekiel 37:27; Exodus 29:45; Leviticus 26:12

 

How is God YOUR God? In what ways do you show Him that you believe this? In what way do you show Him the opposite?

 

At the end of this section of scripture, God emphatically says that He has spoken. Why does He say this? Ezekiel 17:24
