Last night I watched a fascinating interview on Youtube. It was a discussion between 4 men, a commentator, the head of the computer science division at Yale University, one of the leading philosophers in the world and a renowned biologist. I came upon the interview because of the biologist, Stephen Meyer, the Director of the Center for Science and Culture and a Christian speaker as someone who came to Christ through science. Though it included Dr. Meyer, it wasn’t a discussion about Christianity but about Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. These three men have helped to prove that Darwin’s theory is very flawed.

One of their reasonings was because of the problem Darwin’s theory has with mathematical equations. Let me give you an example. The chance that DNA was developed by a fluke chemical reaction as many scientists now believe is less than it would be if you filled a room full of monkeys in front of typewriters and one of them “accidently” writing all of Shakespeare’s works word for word. Just for further proof of God’s greatness,  I got this from a book I am currently reading by Ravi Zacharias. The chances that earth would “accidently” be perfect for life is less than if you blindfolded someone carrying a very high powered rifle, spinning that person around and around and then having that person shoot in the air, hitting a spot the size of a quarter a billion light years from earth. I clearly don’t have enough faith to believe like many scientists do.

I came away from watching that even more at awe of the awesomeness of God. God says in Isaiah 45:7, “I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all things.” I believe in God because it’s the only rational answer to life. He fills in all the blanks, yet scientists cannot separate themselves from their own religion of Darwinism. It’s been ingrained in them for too long and, rather than grabbing the obvious answer they try to prove a theory that is so beyond the realm of possibility that it’s silly. Now, I admit I’m a layman, but the more I read, the more God makes perfect sense.

Our God is truly an awesome God, but even greater, He’s a God of relationship. Imagine that, the Creator of all there is cares about little ‘ol you. He loves you so much he was willing to send His Son to die for you. Imagine! “But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Despite your flaws, the Creator of the universe still cares for you. It’s too amazing to comprehend, just as His creation is. It adds to His awesomeness. Just because you are His beautiful creation He is willing to be “faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” just in the asking. Wow! What an amazing and awesome God we have!

Your awesome God cares about YOU. He wants you to know that he loves you and wants to be in relationship with you. He is not so distant that He can’t hear you nor so awesome that He cannot care. He made you the miracle you are. You are something amazing and God has great plans for you. If you trust in Him, He will do great things through you because he is an awesome God! He created all there is and He can create something equally amazing in you. Please pray with me:

Thank you Lord that, despite your awesomeness, you still care for each person individually. We can’t pretend we know why you put up with us but You do, and for that we are forever grateful. Lead us to do more in Your name so that others may come to know You like we do. Amen.
